Colombian Fajas Everything You Need To Know!

Colombian Faja / Waist Trainer

What is a Faja (Waist Trainer)?

The FAJA, Spanish for ‘girdle’, originated in Colombia, one of the planet’s cosmetic surgery hubs.  Following surgery, doctors prescribe its use to reduce swelling and make sure affected skin tightens correctly on their patients. However, the medical use extended to the general female population as Colombian women realized the faja could also serve to accentuate their natural curves.

What are the benefits of wearing a KIMMI COUTURE FAJA?

The Faja is used to help achieve that “coke bottle” shape. Wearing a Colombian Faja gradually moves the organs in the body down in a safe way while also bringing the bottom or “floating” ribs in and closer together resulting in a smaller waist. In addition, the faja strengthens your posture and lower back muscles, helps to reduce appetite and when worn while working out can help to burn fat with a thermogenic effect on the abdomen.

Is wearing a KIMMI COUTURE FAJA safe, will it damage my organs?

Yes wearing a FAJA is safe. No it will not damage your organs when used correctly. There are a lot of myths out there about waist training. Kim Couture only promotes safe waist training. The fact of the matter is when wearing a faja there is a shifting of the organs that takes place. We have designed our sizing guidelines so that the shifting takes place gradually. You do not squeeze into a faja that is too small for you. Trying to fit into a size too small can cause the garment to rip apart, long before any damage is done to your organs or any cracking of the ribs takes place. Fajas are often confused with a process that is known as tight lacing. Tight lacing is done with steel boned corsets that you are tied into as tight as possible. That is completely different than our product. The gradual shifting of the organs is completely safe; our bodies are designed to do so (very similar to what takes place during pregnancy). A woman's organs will shift to accommodate the growing uterus over a 9 month period. When we gain weight and have a larger abdominal cavity, our organs will also shift to occupy the larger space. Same goes with waist training! When the space becomes smaller, the organs will shift accordingly to fit within the space allotted.

What is the difference between other Waist Trainers (fajas) and KIMMI COUTURE FAJAS?

The biggest difference between other Fajas (Waist trainers) on the market and the Kimmi Couture faja is the amount of latex. The Exclusive Premium Faja contains about 5-8 oz more latex than all other brands that we have tested. More Latex means increased compression resulting in a more dramatic reduction in your waist line. There are 3 rows of clasps as opposed to 2 rows as seen on most other waist trainers. The 3 rows of clasps means your Faja will last you longer as you reduce your waist line. The clasps are also larger and made of steel. Much stronger than the "bra like" clasps found on other brands. Kimmi Couture Fajas are also more luxurious and sexy design with a thick coated cotton cover. The premium Faja is exclusive to KIMMI COUTURE and Designed by the Mrs. CEO K.

Keep in mind when searching for other waist trainers that although there are dozens of different companies out there selling waist trainers most of those companies are selling you the same waist trainer (Getting them from the same distributor) Pay attention, in most cases you will recognize the same model being used on multiple websites. We can guarantee you that none of those companies can offer you a an authentic Kimmi Cuture Colombian faja. We do not purchase our Fajas from distributors. They are designed in our factory in Medellin Colombia made for us by local men and women in Colombia. They are hand made with top quality materials. For more information check out our latest blog on our Premium Fajas.

Now that you have determined your size, purchase your FAJA here.

What if I don't have a measuring tape?

If you don't have a measuring tape, you can either measure yourself with a string then use a ruler to measure the string.

I am a size 27 in jeans does that mean I should order a 27 faja?

NO, The Faja size is NOT based on your pant size. You must measure your waist in order to determine what size faja to order. Use the chart to determine your size. For example a 31" waist would be a size 36 Faja. (Your waist measurement is NOT the faja size)

My Waist Measures 34" does that mean I should order a size 34 Faja?

NO, your waist measurement is NOT your faja size. Please refer to the chart to select your faja size. A person with a 34" waist would order a size 38 Faja. If you are borderline between sizes, size up to guarantee fit!

How do I put the Faja on?

The Faja is designed to be tight, therefore it can be difficult to put on especially the very first time. The best time to put your faja on is in the morning on an empty stomach. You may need help getting it on the first couple of times. It also is easier for some to put it on while lying down. Start with the first set of clasps. Start clasping from the bottom up. Once you get it all clasped it will/should feel very tight. It will be uncomfortable but it should not be painful. Discontinue use if you feel pain.

How long do I wear my faja?

The more often you wear your faja the quicker and more dramatic your results will be. It is recommended to start with 2 hours and work your way up to 8 Hours. Fajas can be worn as long as 12 hours a day, however DO NOT wear your faja while sleeping. Once your faja begins to feel more “comfortable” it is time to graduate to the next set of clasps making the faja feel tight once again. If you desire to continue to shrink your waist you will eventually need to graduate to a smaller size faja.

Can I wear it when I workout?

Yes, In fact we encourage you to. The heat maximizes fat burn and assists with shrinking the fat cells in the abdomen. Both the KIMMI COUTURE FIT FAJA and the WAIST TRAINER  FAJA can be worn while working out.

If I wear it to workout won't it get sweaty?

Yes it will get sweaty and require more frequent washings. For those that are really committed to their waist training and want to wear it daily as well as wear it working out we recommend that you purchase A KIMMI COUTURE FIT FAJA for Working out and a WAIST TRAINER FAJA for all other waking hours. Consider the Faja an additional undergarment, I mean you can't get by with just 1 bra can you?!

How do I know if it is working?

There are 2 great ways to measure progress, First is to track your waist measurement. Before you begin wearing it, log your waist measurement and re measure your waist every 2 weeks or so. Secondly as you begin to graduate to the second, then third set of clasps and then to a smaller faja you will know this is because your midsection/waist is shrinking.

Will I need to purchase a new faja when my waist begins to shrink?

Depends on your desired results. If you would like to continue to minimize your waist line then yes. As you begin to reduce you will need to order smaller fajas until you achieve your desired result. Once you achieve your desired result you will keep using that faja long term for maintenance.

Are my results permanent?

Think about the Faja as if it were putting braces on your teeth. The braces will straighten your teeth over time and then be removed when your teeth are straight, but in order to maintain them you need wear a retainer at night. The Faja is very similar once you receive your desired results you will not have to wear it as much however it is recommended to wear it daily for shorter periods of time. If you end up not wearing it for awhile you may need to start at the first set of clasps again but will quickly reduce as their is a memory effect that takes place.

How do I wash my Faja?

We recommend that you hand wash it in warm water and lay flat to dry. Be Sure to wash it before wearing for the first time to prevent color transfer. Treat your faja as you would a really nice bra or lingerie.

How long will it take to receive my faja.

Faja orders are generally shipped within 2-3 days. However due to supply and demand they can take up to 2-3 weeks to be shipped to you. If for some reason it may take longer than 3 weeks (Rare) we will contact you to let you know. If a particular size is on confirmed back order, we will list the approximate ship date next to the size when you order your faja.
